Apple nachos
Something a little different, flexible, cool and a fit for many fussy eaters.
It’s a cross between a snack and a dessert and can be modified to suit many tastes.
I love different ways to serve commonplace foods. Any change is a plus, and fun too!
Recipe
Adjust to fit your child’s tastes:
Apples – slice thinly (use whichever variety is a win)
‘Caramel’ sauce:
1 dst sp of honey (or other sweetener)
1/8 cup melted butter (or light tasting olive oil/coconut oil)
2 dates (could be omitted)
Pinch salt
½ tsp vanilla
Put all the ingredients in the blender/food processor and whiz together with options below
Additions (you can add one or all of the following)
Frozen banana
1 tsp molasses
1 dst spoon of nut butter
Toppings (all optional)
Chopped nuts and/or seeds
Choc chips
Drizzle of yoghurt or cream
