Home-made Weetbix Up & Go
I’ve been experimenting with a home-made version of Up & Go for a while.
I love the concept as often mornings are busy, many fussy eaters find drinking easier than eating, and having some decent nutrition first thing is a win. However, I’m not a fan of the ingredients in the pre-packaged ones.
This one is a Weetbix version, so suitable for children who enjoy that flavour.
A great start to the day or a perfect snack.
Also, an excellent way to use up the crumbles at the bottom of the box.
Recipe
½ cup crushed Weetbix
½ cup milk (can add extra if you prefer runnier)
½ cup cream (great for children who need additional calories)
1 hpd tsp melted honey/maple syrup (if you prefer sweeter, may need additional)
2 hpd tsp cocoa powder
Pinch salt
– I mixed together in a bowl then cooked in the microwave to soften the Weetbix
– Blitz in the food processor until smooth
– Drink as is or eat from a bowl. Great hot or cold.
