Toasted bread cups

These are awesome for many fussy eaters.
Yes, they are toasted bread, but they are quite different to regular toast.

My teen declared them delicious although he couldn’t quite decide what they were made from!

If you have a child who happily eats bread and toast, it’s always good to serve new foods. It prevents boredom, increases eating flexibility and potentially opens the door to new foods.

These are simple, quick, and fun to make.

They are also flexible as you can fill (or not) with whatever is a win for your child.

Recipe

1 slice of bread per cup (I used wholemeal)
Oil or butter
Fillings (I used grated cheese in one and peanut butter and jam in the other)

Method

Heat oven to 180˚
Grease the inside of a muffin tin (use liberal amounts)
Cut the crusts from each slice of bread then roll flat with a rolling pin. If you wish you can butter or oil one side – this will be the side facing up (I did).
Fit the bread inside the greased muffin tin hole. This may require some cutting and pasting (you can see in the photo mine are not perfectly regular!)
Toast in the oven for approx. 10 mins until crispy.
Add fillings. Or, if you would like melted ingredients add at 8 mins and leave until ready.
Eat!
