Persimmons
For children who are a little fruit shy but eat apples (or melon), I think persimmons are worth a whirl. The texture (if not overripe) is quite crunchy with a similar skin. If you haven’t eaten A persimmon before I think it tastes like a cross between an apple and a sweet cantaloupe melon!
Here in Aotearoa NZ the season is super short, but I always look forward to it as I think these would be one of my favourite fruits.
Have you tried one? What do you think it tastes like?
Have you tried it with your child?
