Interview on The Project
Last week the producer from The Project (prime time news, information, and entertainment show in NZ) asked whether I’d be available for an interview Monday, 22nd August.
The segment was about adult picky eaters rather than children, but they wanted me on for a few soundbites about children.
However, when they discovered I also worked with young adults, the interview focused more on adults than children!
It was a great opportunity to talk to Jesse, Kanoa and Jeremy about issues faced by people of any age who aren’t able to eat variety.
Hopefully in the short amount of time I was allocated I was able to clearly quash two of the key myths surrounding fussy eating:
1. It’s the parents’ fault
2. It’s a modern permissive problem that was not in evidence in ‘the good old days’ when children did what they were told! Also, that these tactics are frequently harmful.
