Chocolate mousse (or ice cream)

I have tested dozens of avocado mousse recipes, and they all end up tasting of avocado. This is not a bad thing if you love avocado, but not necessarily the overriding taste you want in a mousse.

This recipe is silky, creamy, nutrient dense and has only a hint of avocado. However, adding extra cocoa powder and sweetener masks the avocado taste even more.

You can eat as a mousse or freeze for ice cream.

Recipe

Chocolate mousse (or ice cream)
1 small – med avocado
1/8 cup yoghurt
1 cup milk
½ tsp vanilla
Pinch salt
1 ½ tbs cocoa (plus more, if needed)
¼ cup cream (or coconut cream)
1 hps tsp honey/maple syrup (add more to taste)

Method

Cut avocado up and place with other ingredients in a food processor/blender
Mix until smooth and creamy – adjust cocoa and sweetener to taste
For ice cream either put in ice cream maker or freeze and stir every 45 minutes until set
