French toast with a difference
Most fussy eaters enjoy bread. Recipes that build on that enjoyment can be a great way to expand the diet.
French toast may be worth a whirl even for those who don’t particularly like eggs (you can reduce the quantity of the egg so it’s not as noticeable).
This though is a picky eater special French toast! The filling takes it to a whole new level. It is also a great way to scaffold between a favourite and something new.
Recipe
2 slices of bread
Filling of choice – I tried peanut butter and jam. I also tried Vegemite.
1 egg (use less if eggs are not a favourite)
1/3 cup milk
Method
Heat a greased (I used butter) frying pan to medium high heat
Spread filling of choice on a slice of bread. Sandwich with a second slice.
Mix together egg and milk in a shallow bowl
Soak the bread in the milk mixture
Fry until browning, flip and brown the other side
Serve
