Vegemite/Marmite spaghetti

I know, it all sounds a bit crazy, but it works!!

I came across this Nigella Lawson recipe and had to try it.

So many fussy eaters eat plain pasta but also like Vegemite or Marmite.

As this recipe has flavour but not really a ‘sauce’ it is worth a whirl for those plain pasta eaters.

Even if your child is not a Vegemite/Marmite fan this could still be a win.

I will include modification suggestions in the recipe.

Recipe (for a smaller amount to test)

185gms spaghetti (or other favourite pasta)
25gms of melted butter (if butter is not a win, light olive or other oil would work). If nothing ‘saucy’ allowed skip completely
½ tsp Vegemite or Marmite

Method

Cook pasta according to instructions
Melt butter and add Vegemite/Marmite. Stir well until incorporated (this was the hardest bit!!)
– If you have a child not eating V/M yet then the more it’s mixed in the better.
– If your child doesn’t like butter/oil/sauce at the moment then using some of the pasta water to mix the V/M in works
The original recipe calls for a little pasta cooking water to incorporate and make a little more saucy. Do or not, to taste.
