Chocolate smoothie

This is a simple, quick, and delicious way to boost nutrients and calories. It also makes a pretty good ice-creamish option.

Drinking is often easier than drinking for fussy eaters so branching out may not be quite as challenging too.

Recipe – chocolate smoothie

1 ripe banana
¼ cup of cream (optional but does make it more ice-cream-like – also boosts calories)
1 cup plain yoghurt (I used full fat Greek)
1 heaped dessert spoon of cocoa powder
1 heaped tsp molasses (optional but gives a caramel flavour and nutrient boost)

Method

Put all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and whiz until smooth (I use my stick blender)
Serve as is or freeze for 2-4 hours to create more of an ice-cream type option
