Slow cooked meat
Is easy to eat!
Meat is often a challenge for children.
It’s a lot of chewing for very little reward.
And the jaw muscles like any other need to be worked to stay strong.
It’s the reason that nuggets and pre-cooked sausages are so popular ‘prechewed’ – they do not require a lot of effort.
My youngest was never a fan of pork or lamb, but loved corned beef and mince.
Even now he prefers mince to a chop or roast.
But cooking meat in the pressure or slow cooker (or doing the same on the stove or in the oven), achieves a similar outcome.
My husband pressure cooked a shoulder roast and it was melt in the mouth. My youngest scoffed it.
Perhaps if meat is a challenge for your child, you can test out softer versions. Just make sure there are no ‘stringy’ bits 😊
