Apple ‘candy canes’
I saw a version of these recently and thought what a great Christmas idea.
I’m always looking for food that generates interest for fussy eaters.
I used sliced green apples, but no reason not to use red if those are preferred.
I used yoghurt but it could be thickened cream, coconut cream, cream cheese or just omit.
The version I saw had a sugar icing for the stripes. I used raspberry jam.
The original version also had crumbled mints to give the candy cane flavour. Obviously optional!
