Cereal bar

Super simple and quick.

No baking.

Keeps well.

You can easily vary ingredients.

Perfect for snacks or breakfast on the go.

The children can make this themselves – so what’s not to love!

Recipe – Cereal bar *

1 cup of cereal (works best with types with smaller pieces like Rice Bubbles or Cheerios)
1/3 cup nut butter (I used peanut)
1/8 cup honey/other liquid sweetener (add more to taste)
¾ tsp vanilla
Salt (sprinkle)

Method

Put greaseproof paper in a small container
In a separate bowl pour cereal and salt.
Soften the peanut butter and honey (I used the microwave). Add vanilla.
Pour softened mixture over the cereal and salt.
Mix really well until all cereal is coated.
Press the mixture onto the greaseproof paper. Use another sheet to press down firmly. It needs a good press so it stays together once ready.
Place in the freezer for at least 30 mins before slicing
Perfect for breakfast or snacks.
Spread with jam or other spreads, if you wish.
Keeps well in the fridge
